Christmas Songs (album)

Guess what? The band has always talked about releasing a Christmas album, and they finally did it! In 1993, they released a live version of “Silent Night” on a promotional compilation called “So This Is Christmas.” Then in 1997, they recorded three more songs for a promotional “Holiday Sampler” sent to radio stations. The album was recorded in 2011 while they were working on another cover song. It was produced by Greg, Brett, and Joe Baresi, who also handled the recording and mixing. The album was announced in October 2013 and released on CD, LP, and digital. It even made it onto the Billboard charts! The band wanted to give a punk rock twist to traditional Christmas songs, and they thought it would be a fun and unexpected move considering their name and history. They believe that these songs, although rooted in religion, have become secular and ironic in our society. The album artwork features a powerful image from 1946, and there’s even a cool trivia fact about the appearance of a different version of one of their songs. So cool!
